Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Check and replenish fuel, oil, water and sand levels
   • Motive power unit is positioned and secured at required service point in accordance with organisational requirements
   • Fuel, oil, water and sand levels are checked following manufacturer and/or organisational procedures
   • Where indicated, fuel, oil, water and sand levels are replenished following manufacturer and/or organisational procedures
   • Equipment is used in accordance with manufacturer and/or organisational policies and procedures
   • Faults and/or deficiencies are identified and reported to relevant personnel
2. Check and restock consumables
   • Consumables are checked for availability and serviceability
   • Replacement consumables are acquired in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
   • Faults and/or deficiencies are identified and reported to relevant personnel
3. Carry out general housekeeping
   • Rubbish is removed and disposed of in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
   • Relevant areas of the motive power unit are cleaned in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
   • Cleaning materials are utilised in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS)/material safety data sheets (MSDS) and/or manufacturer instructions and organisational policies and procedures
   • Faults and/or deficiencies are identified are reported to relevant personnel
   • Documentation is completed in accordance with organisational policies and procedures

The evidence guide provides advice on assessment and must be read in conjunction with the performance criteria required knowledge and skills the range statement and the assessment guidelines for this Training Package
Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit	The evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria of this unit and include demonstration of applying required knowledge and skills relevant legislation and organisational procedures other relevant aspects of the range statement
Context of and specific resources for assessment	Performance is demonstrated consistently over time and in a suitable range of contexts Resources for assessment include a range of relevant exercises case studies and other simulated practical and knowledge assessment andor access to an appropriate range of relevant operational situations in the workplace In both real and simulated environments access is required to relevant and appropriate materials andor equipment andor applicable documentation including organisational procedures regulations codes of practice and operation manuals
Method of assessment	As a minimum assessment of knowledge must be conducted through appropriate writtenoral tests Practical assessment must occur through activities in an appropriately simulated environment andor in an appropriate range of situations in the workplace
